Pollinator Party Mural
Congratulations! You have found the Pollinator Party mural at Joyce Park Nature Center! Read the following text and write down some facts on your form.
The Pollinator Party mural honors all of our local pollinators and the wonderful ways they contribute to our world. Ohio is home to a diverse array of pollinator species such as honeybees, native bees, flies, butterflies, moths, hummingbirds and bats! They are crucial for plant reproduction and food production and in fact, more than 100 U.S. grown crops rely on pollinators. Honey bees are America's primary pollinator, although there are over 4,000 different types of bees in the United States. Unfortunately our pollinators are now facing threats like habitat loss, pesticide use and disease. To help these important creatures, you can plant native plants, reduce your pesticide use and create pollinator-friendly habitats.
